Mark Lewis is a Research Assistant and Games Designer at the Disruptive Media Learning Lab, Coventry University. He has fourteen years’ experience within the games industry where he worked as a games designer on several highly successful AAA titles. His research interests include a focus on game mechanics, user-interface and user-experience within games. He has recently started to explore and experiment with educational methodologies, bringing his experience within the games industry into the classroom within his project ‘Phoenix Interactive’; a simulated working environment. In addition to this, his work has included the gamification of the EU Horizon2020 projects Crowd4Roads (http://www.c4rs.eu/) and Beaconing (beaconing.eu); the Erasmus+ project Cult_Risk (http://culturalrisk.eu/) where he has been part of a team creating educational interactive media. Mark has previously worked on the development of a treasure trail game for use within secondary school education based around the events of Coventry City of Culture 2021 and Tokyo 2020. He is currently involved in the gamification of the Erasmus+ projects; E-DigiLit and Escape Racism.
